Psychological counselling in English

You carry
responsibility.
There is room
for you, too.

When you are used to managing

You do not need to have the answer here.

You may still be making decisions and meeting expectations while feeling increasingly strained inside. Perhaps your thoughts keep running after work, relationships feel harder, or the confidence you usually rely on has become less steady.

You can also choose conversations without being in a crisis. A longer therapeutic course can give you time to understand your feelings, relationships and recurring patterns — and make more deliberate choices about how you want to live.

What we can explore.

Your working life can be part of the conversation. So can everything beyond it.

Pressure and stress

When the demands keep growing and time off no longer brings the relief it used to. We look at what is happening in your life and what keeps the pressure going.

Leadership and difficult choices

Responsibility, conflict, uncertainty and decisions with consequences for other people. A place to consider what you need, alongside what the role demands.

Loneliness and connection

Being surrounded by people does not always mean feeling understood. We can explore what is difficult to share, how you relate to others and what closer connection might mean for you.

The person beyond the role

Self-doubt, identity, relationships and changes in direction. Who are you when you are not leading, solving or delivering — and what would make life feel more fully your own?

Why Frank

Psychological experience.
An understanding of responsibility.

I am Frank Kjerstein. I graduated in psychology from Aarhus University in 2005 and became an authorised psychologist in 2011. My experience includes crisis psychology, professional leadership and leading a venture-backed technology startup.

I bring that experience into the room with curiosity and plain language. You do not need to explain why responsibility can be both meaningful and demanding. We begin with how it is for you.

My approach is integrative and humanistic. We can work with specific dilemmas while also taking time to understand the feelings and patterns beneath them. You meet the same psychologist throughout.

The practical framework

A regular time.
Space for a continuing conversation.

Individual sessions are available in English, normally at a fixed weekly evening time. We meet at Fabriksvej 5, 8544 Mørke, or online. Online sessions can suit a working life with travel or a longer journey to the practice; choose somewhere private where you can speak undisturbed.

Sessions cost DKK 1,600 each. To begin, you choose a prepaid package of 5 or 10 sessions. Once we have confirmed a suitable arrangement and start date, I send an invoice by email. Payment is due before the first session. Joining the waiting list involves no purchase or payment.

Your company can pay by arrangement. You arrange approval with the company, and I can invoice it for the agreed package. Where needed for payment, the company receives information about the package and whether it has been used up. The content of our conversations remains confidential.

Questions you may have

A little clarity.
Before you begin.

Can our sessions be entirely in English?

Yes. We can hold the conversations in English, both in person and online.

Who are these sessions for?

Leaders, business owners and other adults with busy lives who want a regular space to work with personal difficulties or develop a deeper understanding of themselves. Our conversations can include the whole of your life, including what happens outside work.

Do I need a diagnosis or a clear explanation before contacting you?

No. You can begin with what has changed, what feels difficult or what you would like to understand better. You do not need to choose a label for it first.

Is this therapy, coaching or leadership advice?

These are conversations with a psychologist. They can address an immediate difficulty or form a longer therapeutic course focused on self-understanding and personal development. My leadership experience informs the work; your own experience and needs guide its focus.

Will my employer hear what we discuss?

I do not provide your employer with reports about the content of our sessions. If your company pays, it receives the invoice and the administrative information needed for the agreed payment arrangement. You arrange the funding with your company yourself.

Will my GP be informed?

No, your GP will not be informed. What happens in our sessions is confidential. Think of them as conversations in a closed room, whether we meet online or in Mørke.

Can we meet online?

Yes. We agree the format when arranging your course. You need a private space, a reliable internet connection and time to take part without interruptions.

Can I choose a longer course?

Yes. A longer course can make room for work with relationships, feelings and patterns that take time to understand. We discuss the focus and how the work is progressing along the way. A package of sessions is a starting framework, not a promise that a particular issue will be resolved within that number.

Where do I start?

I currently accept enquiries for the waiting list. You are asked to describe your everyday life, what brings you here and what you are looking for. This helps me assess the fit between your focus, my experience and the practical framework. Joining does not reserve an appointment or guarantee a start date.

You do not need a polished explanation.

Interested in a course of sessions?

A short description is enough to begin. Tell me about your everyday life, what brings you here and what you are looking for. I use your answers to assess whether your focus, my experience and the practical framework are a good fit.

You do not need to share more than you feel comfortable with. Joining the waiting list does not reserve an appointment or guarantee a start date.
